About Morning Light
Morning Light (Yengat Birhan) is a refuge for the needy, serving 243 widows, single mothers, and orphans in the slums of Addis Ababa. With a volunteer director and staff of committed believers, Morning Light holistically supports the entire family. Poor single mothers receive job training and guidance in starting businesses to become independent.
The children of these women attend the after-school program at Morning Light, where they receive tutoring, counseling, and a snack. The main focus and goal of everything done at Morning Light is relationship building to share the gospel. Upon believing, some of these Mothers and children move into local churches and bible studies outside of the ministry. Morning Light's approach to ministry meets physical needs while sharing the hope and refuge found in Christ.
